Ingredients: Sugar, flour, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, allspice, ginger.
Pie Crust Directions: Add Crust Mix to a mixer bowl. Add: 4 oz. butter, 4 oz. vegetable shortening, 1 egg plus enough water to make 1/2 cup. Mix with the paddle and let stand 5 min. Separate into 2 doughballs. On floured surface, roll out each to fit into pie plate. If baking crust only, poke holes in bottom with a fork. Bake at 425 degrees 10-12 minutes. Do not precook if making a pie with filling. Makes enough for 1 double crusted pie.
Tip: Make cinnamon/sugar pinwheels out any extra dough.
Apple Pie Mix Directions: In a large bowl, combine Apple Pie Mix, 12 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced, zest and juice of 1 lemon, and zest and juice of 1 orange. Toss well. Pour into pie shell, top with crust, make slits. Brush top with heavy cream and sprinkle on more sugar. Bake in preheated oven at 375 degrees for 45-60 minutes, untill crust is golden brown and filling is bubbling. Can be used for cobblers and crisps.
